Fraud Prevention Strategies, LLC was founded in 2022 by Doug Shadel — a former fraud investigator for the Washington State Attorney General's office and former State Director of AARP Washington.

Doug has spent his entire career on the front line of fraud: interviewing dozens of convicted con artists, leading landmark studies on how scams actually work, and translating that knowledge into education that has reached tens of millions of consumers — especially older adults, who are disproportionately targeted.
